Have you ever felt that you are so ugly?

Atleast once in our life, we would've gone through this inferiority complex. "I'm so tall, I'm so skinny, I'm dark skinned, I'm so short, I'm so fat", and so more. Even many around us doesn't even have the confidence to look at themselves in the mirror. Such toxic misconcepts! Since when did we start to analyse ourselves with these so called standards? In my young age, even I had the same thought that being fair skinned is beautiful. And I started using all those famous fairness creams and powders just to get fairer. Later I realized that it is a wrong concept which is spread by our society and it is heartbreaking to know that youngsters even now believe all these superstitions and fall prey for the comments made by the society. I don't know when would this get to society understand that all such 'beauty concepts' are human made! Even many among think that makeup is used for making a skin fairer. They are still ignorant to the fact that...

Be ready to accept rejections

When we make a wish to someone, ask someone for something or make a proposal, the reply would be either YES or NO. Whatever the reply is, we should be able to accept it.  A proposal we make may not be acceptable for the other person. We cannot be adamant that they should accept it. It is completely their right and their choice. It depends on them to choose. And their decision is final here. Getting emotional when they say NO is of no use and making them accept it through any other way doesn't really make any sense. To hurt or abuse someone mentally or physically just for rejecting a proposal is strictly a punishable offense.  In a democratic country, a person can choose whatever they want and they have the right share their opinion. According to the laws of our country, each person can choose their life themselves. Nowadays, we come across many shocking incidents like murders and acid attacks for the rejections.  Thoughts like, 'What I cannot gain should never be gained b...

Self love is not selfish !

Being a girl myself, this one is dedicated to all the women. When someone appreciates a woman by saying "You look so pretty today", mostly they'll say, "Oh! Thats because of I wore this dress." Let me ask, why do we girls/women always think low of ourselves? Women are usually confined inside their house, playing the roles of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, etc. Maybe no one else could replace these characters other than them. But during their busy schedule of living for others, they forget to live for them. They forget to remember their own identity. They forget to remember their individuality and their dreams. People may argue that it is 21st century and women are no longer being oppressed inside their house. But its so unfortunate to know that almost 50% of women still leaves around their career and dreams for the sake of their family. All those proverbs and prejudice used to be heard about women and the cliche dialogues like "What am I gonna do with th...

Comparison is a dirty business

"Look at your cousin and learn from him!" All of us would've heard this line atleast once in our lives. Comparison; everyone knows its not fair to compare someone with others. Thinking that it would create a competitive mind in their children, parents are using this 'formula' since ages which never change! "Look at your friend, look at your neighbour, look at your cousin, etc, etc.,!"  It actually creates a negative impact in our minds. Comparison makes a person think that they are worthless than others.  The thought that, 'everone should follow the same path and that is safe for their future' is one of the main reason for this. Most of the time, we hear the words of comparison from the ones who are supposed to give strength and support to our dreams. This may lead a person to the worst mindset that they may get disheartened. Also, this results in hostility to the one he/she was conpared with and the one who said so.  Each and every one in this s...

The most annoying parents!

Parents; people who brought you here, in this world. Atleast some of you find them as the most annoying person. Have you ever thought of what are they expecting from you? Nothing but your love and attention. Working hard for hours and being tired physically, they yearn for some mental relaxation. Not from any one else, but from you. You are the one who they love more than themselves. You are the one who they wish to be happy than they are. So, its none but you who has the 'power' to let their mind relax and refresh. But how? Whenever you are about to speak with them, they are angry and adamant. Aren't they? Yep, but there is a solution. Just go and give them a tight hug. Give them a sweet kiss. Smile at them wholeheartedly. And say, 'I love you and I'm always there for you'. Spend a little time with them. Use it to talk. If you have nothing to say, atleast listen to them. And thats it. This is all enough for them. You may find this a bit dramatic. But trust me...

Are women really enjoying their 'freedom'?

In this 21st century, women are considered to be enjoying their freedom to its fullest than the previous ages. But sadly, its not. Look around. Many women are there and many among them are independent (according to you). But truly they are not. Independence or self compatibility of women cannot be defined by just letting her to work. Firstly, this so called phrase 'to let to work' itself says she should be 'allowed' to do what she likes. Restrictions which we cannot see from an external view lies now as then. From choosing her career to go out for a simple walk, she have to go through many 'NOCs'. How pity! And its just the females who are facing all these obstacles even for a single move. If someone question these things they'll say 'women could not be set free as men'! The worst part is, not just men, certain women too have the same opinion. Asking someone's permission is not the thing which I try to convey here. Its just the matter of obstacle...
